The late 1950s in the USA saw a cultural shift that changed music forever. It was the birth of the Surf Scene—a sun-drenched era of custom "Woodie" wagons, saltwater-soaked rebellion, and a new, drenched-in-reverb sound that required a different kind of instrument. The guitars of that era were defined by their offset bodies and futuristic curves, designed to look as fast and fluid as the waves themselves.
At Bonny Wood Guitars, we’ve taken that iconic 50s DNA and brought it home.
The Surfer is our tribute to that golden age of California cool, re-imagined with a rugged, boutique soul.
Every Bonny Wood solid body guitar is built to order and takes around seven months to complete. Pickups, bridge, pick-guard, tuners, controls and woods can all be customized to match your tone, your style, and your stage presence. Whether you want vintage warmth, modern punch, or something uniquely yours and tailored to your spec.
